Due to the different opportunities presented to Black and Latino players before integration, the Hall Rating of these players does not accurately reflect their Hall of Fame cases. When possible, the Hall of Stats uses Eric Chalek’s Negro League MLEs to present an alternate Hall Rating for prominent early Black and Latino stars. Turkey Stearnes has a 169 Hall Rating using these MLEs. The rest of the stats on this page come from real game data, not MLEs.

|About the stats|
Over the course of his career, Turkey Stearnes made 4,291 plate appearances and pitched 7 innings. Stearnes was worth 50.0 Wins Above Replacement (50.1 as a hitter and -0.4 as a pitcher) and 36.0 Wins Above Average (36.5 as a hitter and -0.4 as a pitcher).
After adjusting for length of schedule, catchers, and relief pitchers, the 50.0 WAR becomes 91.8 adjWAR. Then, WAA is adjusted by ignoring negative seasons (thus, truly capturing a player’s peak seasons) and making similar adjustments for catchers and relief pitchers. After these adjustments, the 36.0 WAA becomes 36.4 adjWAA.
Then, the adjWAR and adjWAA are combined, but with extra weighting given to adjWAA. This gives Stearnes 157.3 wWAR. wWAR is then converted to Hall Rating. A Hall Rating of 100 represents the Hall of Stats borderline (similar to OPS+ or wRC+, where 100 represents league average).
Turkey Stearnes has a Hall Rating of 148, making him a member of the Hall of Stats.
